Terbinafine, better known as (its commercial name), is an aynthetic allylamine antifungal used for treating (). What it does is, it stops the growth of fungi on the nails, specifically the dermatophytes.
Terbinafine tablets are recommended to be take once per day during 6 weeks to treat fingernails, and once per day during 12 weeks to treat toenails. This is bought only through medical prescription, and you must follow exactly the indications of your doctor, because it can have certain side effects such as:
- Diarrhea
- Upset stomach
- Rash
- Hives
- Taste changes
- Stomach pain
It can produce also more serious side effects, though uncommon such as:
